Skunk Works® Expands Production of Lockheed Martin Vectis™

Four additional vehicles are planned for production.

The battlespace is evolving and the need for survivable, multi-mission, autonomous capability is rapidly growing with it.

Skunk Works® is responding with urgency, expanding the program with four more vehicles as the team continues to advance toward first flight in 2027.

Lockheed Martin Vectis™ is designed to deliver a new level of lethality, survivability, adaptability and operational flexibility for America and its allies.

Its flexible architecture will enable Vectis™ to evolve alongside the mission, while its ability to integrate with crewed aircraft, like the F-35, will help extend reach, create new tactical options and keep warfighters ahead of emerging threats.

Developed at Speed

The team moved from the first drawing to a wind tunnel fly-off in less than two months, completed the first digital build in six months and released the first part in just eight months, keeping the first prototype on schedule to fly by the end of 2027.

That pace is enabled by advanced design and manufacturing processes developed through internal investment across advanced development programs.

The latest production milestone comes as Skunk Works® gives the world a new look at Vectis™.

At the Air, Space & Cyber Conference, we unveiled the Vectis™ full-scale model for the first time, offering a tangible look at the magnitude of what is taking shape behind the walls of Skunk Works®.

More than a representation of what's ahead, the full-scale model reflects the momentum behind a program already moving forward.
