Chinese Ambassador to Trinidad and Tobago Ren Hongyan Meets Dr. Maurice Jones, Chairman of the Board, Youth Training and Employment Partnership Programme (YTEPP)

On 20 August, H.E. Ambassador Ren Hongyan met Dr. Maurice Jones, Chairman of the Board, Youth Training and Employment Partnership Programme (YTEPP) Limited and held discussions with his delegation.

Ambassador Ren stated that youth training and employment bear on people's well-being and industrial development. China looks forward to further deepening cooperation with Trinidad and Tobago in this field, expanding technical exchanges and joint programme development to help Trinidad and Tobago boost youth employment and foster economic growth.

Dr. Maurice Jones noted that YTEPP hopes to draw on China's advanced experience in agriculture, manufacturing and information technology. It will carry out capacity-building for teaching and administrative staff focusing on agricultural skills, chemical smelting and emerging industries, and cooperate with Chinese vocational colleges to cultivate adaptable and future-ready workforce.

Established jointly by the World Bank and the Government of Trinidad and Tobago in 1988, the Youth Training and Employment Partnership Programme (YTEPP) Limited is Trinidad and Tobago's largest vocational and technical education and training platform.
