Schnelle Elected To Missouri Corn Board

Posted on: Oct 01, 2026

Jerry Schnelle of Golden City, Mo., was recently elected to the Missouri Corn Merchandising Council (MCMC) board of directors. Schnelle began his volunteer service to corn farmers effective Oct. 1.

"As corn farmers, we invest a lot of time and money in our crop, and we expect our checkoff dollars to work just as hard," notes Schnelle. "I'm grateful corn farmers put their trust in me and look forward to learning more and representing southwest Missouri to continue moving this industry forward."

Schnelle replaces Greg Bertz of Mayview, Mo., who served six years on the Missouri Corn board. He will be nominated as a candidate for the Missouri Corn Growers Association (MCGA) board at the organization's annual meeting in January.

"It is always interesting to see new perspectives, and we look forward to Jerry's ideas as we work on behalf of corn growers," says incoming MCMC Chairman Dylan Rosier. "Everyone has a different background and no two operations are the same. It is important for all of us to express our viewpoints and explain where we are coming from. It's how good decisions are made."

The MCMC board of directors is comprised of 14 farmers elected from across the state. This volunteer board was formed in 1984 with the passage of a corn checkoff and is dedicated to market development, research, and education. To learn more, visit www.mocorn.org.
