Bankruptcy Rules, Forms, and Fees Changes Effective December 1, 2026

Absent Congressional intervention, the following proposed amendments will become effective on December 1, 2025:

Amendments to the Federal Rules of Bankruptcy Procedure

  • Bankruptcy Rule 1007

  • Bankruptcy Rule 3018

  • Bankruptcy Rule 5009

  • Bankruptcy Rule 9006

  • Bankruptcy Rule 9014

  • Bankruptcy Rule 9017

  • New Bankruptcy Rule 7043

These rules changes, as well as the changes to Evidence Rules 801, can be viewed on the Pending Rules and Forms Amendments page of the United States Courts website. The Congressional Package dated April 2026 contains black-line versions of the Rules and Committee Notes for a quick reference of the changes.

Miscellaneous Fee Changes
