Head of the Chinese Mission to the African Union Ambassador Jiang Feng Meets with AUC Commissioner for Agriculture, Rural Development, Blue Economy, and Sustainable Environment[...]

On June 25th, Amb. Jiang Feng, Head of the Mission of China to the African Union, met with H.E. Mr. Moses Vilakati ,the AUC Commissioner for Agriculture, Rural Development, Blue Economy, and Sustainable Environment (ARBE), in the presence of Minister Counselor Lyu Ruihao, etc.

Amb. Jiang commended H.E. Vilakati for his long-standing dedication to Africa's development of agriculture and rural development, as well as his important contributions to China-Africa cooperation. Since May 1st, China has fully implemented zero-tariff measures for 53 African countries with diplomatic ties with China, which will greatly facilitate the export of Africa's competitive agricultural products to China. China stands ready to invite the AUC to further deepen cooperation under frameworks including the Global Partnership for Poverty Alleviation and Development (GPPAD) and the China-Africa Agriculture Forum, rally the strength of the Global South, and jointly build a high-standard community with a shared future.

Vilakati noted that amid Africa's development challenges and difficulties, China has always been its most important and trustworthy partner. AUC is willing to learn more from China's advanced theories and practical experience, and believe that both parties could work together to advance the implementation of the African Union's annual theme of "Ensuring Sustainable Water Supply and Sanitation Systems", boost exports to China through production capacity cooperation, and achieve common prosperity.
