Consultations of Representatives of the Legal Services of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the SCO Member States Held in Beijing
On June 29-30, 2026, consultations of representatives of the legal services of the ministries of foreign affairs of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) member states were held at the SCO Secretariat in Beijing. The meeting was chaired by the Kyrgyz side and convened at the level of heads of relevant departments and their deputies.

During the event, participants exchanged views on the current state and outcomes of the inventory of the SCO treaty and legal framework, issues of enhancing the effectiveness of legal regulation of the Organization's activities, as well as on priority areas for improving the treaty and legal framework and developing relevant mechanisms of cooperation within the SCO.

The participants of the consultations underscored the importance of further strengthening systematic expert work and developing regular dialogue between the legal services of the SCO member states in order to improve the effectiveness of treaty and legal cooperation within the Organization.
