BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - The Bowling Green State University Department of Theatre and Film will present "Peter Pan and Wendy" by Lauren Gunderson from April 16-19 in the Thomas B. and Kathleen M. Donnell Theatre at the Wolfe Center for the Arts.
Adapted from J.M. Barrie's classic novel and play, the BGSU production of "Peter Pan and Wendy" is a celebration of loyalty, bravery and teamwork for theatergoers of all ages.
The play follows a bold, budding scientist, Wendy Darling, who dreams of earning a Nobel Prize, when suddenly Peter Pan appears at her bedroom window. Wendy takes the ultimate leap, leaving finishing school behind to chase adventure among the stars. Facing pirates, mermaids and the dastardly Captain Hook, Wendy, Peter, Tinkerbell and their friends discover the power of standing together for what's right.
Co-directed by BGSU faculty members Sara Lipinski Chambers and Heidi Nees, "Peter Pan and Wendy" comprises a student-led cast of Finleigh Klein as Wendy Darling, Christopher Smith as Peter Pan, Kay Nicht as Tiger Lily and Gabrielle Marie Dunn as Tinkerbell, with James Stover, assistant professor of theatre and film, portraying Captain Hook. BGSU students, faculty, staff and alumni from the Department of Theatre and Film make up the artistic and production team.
Performances of "Peter Pan and Wendy" at BGSU are set for 8 p.m. from April 16-18 and 2 p.m. on April 18 and 19. A free meet-and-greet with the costumed cast will follow Saturday's afternoon performance, with opportunities to participate in family-friendly activities.
Tickets are $5 for students and children, $10 for seniors and $15 for adults and can be purchased in advance at BGSU.edu/the-arts/tickets or at the Department of Theatre and Film Box Office one hour prior to each performance. All ticket sales are cashless.
