The Homecoming Committee at Northwest Missouri State University is now seeking nominations for an individual or family to serve as the grand marshal for its annual festivities next fall.
The grand marshal receives special recognition throughout the Homecoming weekend and rides in the lead car during the Homecoming parade.
The honor is bestowed on an individual with notable achievements and a tie to the Northwest community. The role is not limited to alumni of the University and has included current and retired faculty and staff as well as friends of the University.
Recent Homecoming grand marshals have included Courtney Rowe, a Northwest alumna and the reigning Miss Missouri; Dr. Clarence and Chelli Green, in honor of their years of service and commitment to Northwest; and Dr. Lance and Jill Tatum, in honor of their arrival as president and first lady in 2023.
To submit a nomination, complete the form at https://www.nwmissouri.edu/homecoming/grand-marshal-nomintion.htm. The deadline to submit nominations is Aug. 1.
Northwest's 2026 Homecoming week is scheduled for Oct. 25-31. The week-long celebration features activities and entertainment, culminating with long-standing traditions that include a Variety Show, Walkout Day, parade and football game.
