State Route 17 Road Rehabilitation and Enhancement project begins second phase of work near Hebard Rd, Lexington Hills, Santa Clara County

Weekly overnight lane closures scheduled from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. Mon., Sept. 21

Santa Clara County - Caltrans will be begin the second phase of the short-term project which will focus on making road repairs and placing safety measures on State Route 17 from Hebard Rd. to the Santa Cruz county line.

Beginning Monday Sept. 21, crews will be removing a thin layer of the existing asphalt pavement and placing a new rubberized asphalt surface to extend the life of the roadway, which will provide a smoother ride on northbound and southbound State Route 17 within the project limits.

To ensure the safety of the traveling public and workers, a rolling lane closure will be in place with the support of the California Highway Patrol.

The lane reduction will be in place starting at 9 p.m.- 6 a.m., the following morning.

The California Highway Patrol (CHP) will be on site to provide traffic control. Motorists are advised to expect delays and allow extra time for their commute. All work is weather dependent.

Please drive with caution through the construction zone, leave a safe traveling distance between your vehicle and the vehicle ahead of you.
