Pensacola, Florida - Tyronzia Roquza Levine, 45, of Pensacola, Florida, pleaded guilty in federal court to possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine and cocaine, possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking offense, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. The plea was announced by John P. Heekin, United States Attorney for the Northern District of Florida.
U.S. Attorney Heekin said: "I applaud the excellent investigative work by the Escambia County Sheriff's Office, with support from our federal law enforcement partners, which stopped this armed drug trafficker before he could continue peddling deadly drugs on our streets. My office is committed to aggressively prosecuting these cases to deliver the safe, drug-free streets that our citizens deserve."
Court documents reflect that on September 19, 2025, deputies with the Escambia County Sheriff's Office observed the defendant asleep in the driver's seat of a parked vehicle. Deputies could plainly see a large amount of U.S. currency along with multiple bags in the cup holder, one of which contained a crystal-like substance. During the search of the vehicle, the deputies seized methamphetamine, cocaine, and a .22-caliber revolver.
The case involved a joint investigation by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives, and the Escambia County Sheriff's Office. Assistant United States Attorneys Jessica Etherton and Jeffrey Tharp are prosecuting the case.
Sentencing is scheduled for November 23, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at the United States Courthouse in Pensacola before United States District Judge M. Casey Rodgers.
Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN) is the Department of Justice's nationwide initiative that brings federal, state, local, and tribal law enforcement, prosecutors, and other public safety partners together to coordinate efforts to combat violent crime and make communities safe. Coordinated by U.S. Attorneys' offices in each of the 94 federal districts, PSN is tailored to particular communities to strategically address specific violent crime and public safety challenges. As a key component of Operation Take Back America, PSN serves a central role in the Department's commitment to make our country safe. PSN emphasizes three core principles: rapid federal response to violent crime and criminal offenders; strong, strategic partnerships among law enforcement at all levels; and accountability and deterrence through the prosecution of the most serious, readily provable offenses and other strategies. These efforts complement and strengthen President Trump's Homeland Security Task Forces, ensuring a comprehensive federal response to the most pressing public safety issues facing communities.
