Connection Is Key for Fall CSCLE Cohort

October 02, 2026

More than 20 Maine educators spent three days last week discovering the power of connection as part of the Fall CSCLE (Computer Science Connected Learning Experience)--and thousands of students in their schools and districts will benefit from what the cohort learned.

CSCLE is a program that matches a group of educators (including teachers, administrators and specialists) with businesses across the state, helping to "future-proof" Maine's economy by demonstrating what skills students need to be hired into increasingly technical, innovation-powered roles across industries.

From Viking Lumber in Holden, to Bangor Savings Bank headquarters, and finally to New England Outdoor Center in Millinocket, the cohort heard and saw how computer science learning can be integrated throughout the curriculum in public schools. At NEOC, they heard from Maine Outdoor Brands, Maine Tourism Association, Maine Heritage TImber/Timberchic and Katahdin Region Higher Education Center.
