Mayor Andre Dickens to Join Final Community Meeting on Chattahoochee Brick Company Site and Atlanta RiverLands

The City of Atlanta invites media to attend the fifth community meeting for the Chattahoochee Brick Company site and Atlanta RiverLands, where residents will get their first look at the proposed framework plan for a memorial, park, and trail network that honors the site's history while helping create a new future for Atlanta along the Chattahoochee River.

The framework plan brings together two important pieces of Atlanta's story and future. At the historic Chattahoochee Brick Company site, the City is working with descendants and the community to confront the brutal history of forced labor and honor those who suffered and died there. The plan also advances the Atlanta RiverLands vision, restoring the landscape, expanding public access to the Chattahoochee, and connecting neighborhoods to trails, recreation, nature, and a larger regional network along the river.

Together, the projects represent an opportunity to transform a place once defined by exploitation and exclusion into a public landscape of remembrance, restoration, connection, and recreation. Residents will hear how community engagement has shaped the proposed framework plan and provide feedback to help guide the project toward implementation.
