Denver - Monday, August 17, 2026 - The Denver Police Department announces the arrest of Ty Anderson (DOB 9/13/2005) related to the shooting that occurred on August 15, 2026, at 2121 South Sheridan Boulevard.
On Saturday, August 15, 2026, at approximately 12:08 a.m., Denver 911 received a report of an assault or fight occurring in the parking lot outside of Volt Club, located at 2121 South Sheridan Boulevard and a subsequent exchange of gunfire involving a suspect - or suspects - among a large group in the parking lot and a security guard who was attempting to intervene in the assault/fight. Four people, including the security guard, suffered non-life-threatening gunshot injuries.
An officer responding to the reports of the shooting observed an involved vehicle leaving the scene. Officers attempted a vehicle stop, but the driver did not stop. Officers and DPD Air 1 followed the vehicle from a distance and saw several occupants exit the vehicle in the 2700 Block of S. Newton St. Officers detained three individuals at that location, including Ty Anderson.
The driver of the suspect vehicle continued driving and officers pursued and stopped the vehicle using the PIT maneuver in the area of I-70 / I-25 where the driver and a passenger were taken into custody. The driver, Izrial Martin (DOB 2/1/2004) was arrested for Investigation of Vehicular Eluding and Second-Degree Assault.
The investigation revealed Ty Anderson was involved in the exchange of gunfire, and he is currently being held for Investigation of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon Resulting in Serious Bodily Injury and Illegal Discharge of a Firearm.
The investigation into this incident is ongoing as investigators continue gathering and processing evidence. The Denver District Attorney's Office will make the final determination regarding possible charges for both arrestees.
