Gilbert Parks and Recreation Selects Independent Consultant for Comprehensive Cost of Service Analysis

Gilbert, Ariz. - Gilbert Parks and Recreation has selected Matrix Consulting Group to conduct a comprehensive cost of service analysis for the department's recreation programs, facility rentals, and other services.

While individual fees have been updated periodically, this is the department's first comprehensive cost of service analysis in nearly a decade. The study will evaluate the full cost of delivering services, compare Gilbert with similar communities, and review the department's current cost recovery model to help inform future decisions.

"This independent analysis is an important step in helping us make data-driven decisions for the future," said Michael Elliot, Parks and Recreation Director. "Our goal is to better understand the cost of delivering the exceptional programs that our community enjoys while ensuring they remain affordable and accessible."

Matrix Consulting Group is expected to complete the analysis and present its recommendations in early 2027. Any future recommendations would be reviewed through the Town's public decision-making process before any changes are considered.
