Lewis Brisbois Enhances Professional Liability Capabilities in Delaware With New Partner Hire

Wilmington, Del. (October 30, 2025) - Lewis Brisbois is pleased to welcome Loren Barron to its Wilmington office as a partner in the Professional Liability and Complex Business & Commercial Litigation Practices. With more than 15 years of experience, Ms. Barron concentrates her practice in professional liability defense, defending attorneys, directors, and officers in the Delaware Court of Chancery. She also defends accountants and other professionals. In addition to her professional liability work, Ms. Barron handles a variety of business litigation matters including insurance coverage disputes, employment law cases, commercial litigation, bad faith litigation, general liability cases, and medical malpractice matters. Prior to joining Lewis Brisbois, Ms. Barron served as the managing partner of the Delaware office of a leading national law firm.

In discussing her decision to join Lewis Brisbois, Ms. Barron noted, "Ninety-five percent of my decision to join was based on the reputation of Francis Pileggi. Also, I wanted to move to a firm that was enmeshed and actively involved in the Delaware legal community, which is a specialized legal community. We have to do things a certain way here, particularly in the Court of Chancery. The attorneys at Lewis Brisbois understand that."

Additionally, in describing her practice, Ms. Barron explained how a trend in director and officer litigation has been impacting her professional liability practice, stating, "There has been an uptick in corporate director and officer cases in which lawyers are being pulled into the Court of Chancery, such as in matters involving claims of aiding and abetting breach of fiduciary duty and conspiracy. It's a niche area in which I practice and have been devoting much of my time recently."

Wilmington Managing Partner Francis Pileggi expressed excitement regarding Ms. Barron's arrival at the firm, stating, "Loren is a well-respected attorney in Wilmington and I am thrilled that she has joined us. Ms. Barron earned her law degree from the Stetson University College of Law and her undergraduate degree, magna cum laude, from the University of Delaware. She is admitted to practice in state and federal court in Delaware as well as in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. She is also admitted to practice in the District of Columbia, Florida, and Pennsylvania.
