Bellflower Day of Shred

The City of Bellflower's annual Day of the Shred returns this spring, providing residents with a free, secure and convenient way to safely dispose of sensitive documents and protect against identity theft.

This annual event supports the City's ongoing efforts to provide practical services that enhance quality of life and help residents safely manage household needs. The event will be held Saturday, May 16 at Thompson Park, 14001 Bellflower Blvd., from 8 to 11 a.m.

Operating on a first-come, first-served basis, each vehicle is limited to five boxes or bags of documents. Participants must retrieve their empty boxes or bags after shredding is complete and are responsible for removing them from the site. Day of the Shred will conclude once the shredding truck reaches capacity.

Residents may bring personal documents, paper, file folders, staples, rubber bands and small binder clips. Items not accepted include phone books, hardcover books, plastics, metal, CDs or DVDs, trash and hazardous materials. Residents are encouraged to arrive early, as this is a popular event and service will end once capacity is reached.
