ICYMI: Chairman Cassidy Champions Pro-Life Agenda at SBA Gala

WASHINGTON - U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy, M.D. (R-LA), Chairman of the U.S. Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions (HELP) Committee, joined pro-life advocates at the annual Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America Gala to recognize their work and discuss his ongoing efforts to protect women and unborn babies from abortion.

"As a doctor, caring for a pregnant mother means caring for two patients," said Dr. Cassidy. "I've worked hard with my Republican colleagues to stop taxpayer-funded abortions, protect women from dangerous abortion drugs, and uphold the pro-life values that Louisianans share."

During his speech, Cassidy discussed his investigation into chemical abortion drug manufacturers and efforts to urge the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to combat the illegal selling of unapproved, counterfeit abortion drugs online. Earlier this year, Cassidy led the first pro-life hearing this Congress with Louisiana Attorney General Liz Murrill to expose the dangers chemical abortion drugs cause to women and the need for FDA to reinstate the in-person dispensing requirement.

As a consistent and longtime pro-life leader, Cassidy has an A+ rating on Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America's 2025 National Pro-Life Scorecard.

Cassidy was joined by fellow pro-life U.S. Senate Republicans Jim Banks (R-IN), Ted Cruz (R-TX), Steve Daines (R-MT), Lindsey Graham (R-SC), Josh Hawley (R-MO), Cindy Hyde-Smith (R-MS), James Lankford (R-OK), Ashley Moody (R-FL), and Tim Scott (R-SC), as well as Speaker of the House Mike Johnson (R-LA) at the gala.
