October on the North Coast

October on the North Coast

November 06, 2026

Hello,

It's been a busy October on the North Coast! I've been making my way across the district, meeting with constituents, checking in on local projects, and seeing some exciting federal investments come to life.

From supporting our local fishing industry to celebrating a long-awaited trail opening and standing up for voting rights, here's a look at what I've been up to this month.

BRINGING FEDERAL INVESTMENTS HOME

After almost a decade in the making, the new Vista Point Trail is officially open!

I was able to secure over $6 million in federal transportation funding, to help transform an unpaved service road into a car-free connection between Vista Point and Fort Baker.

As someone who loves getting outdoors, I'm especially excited to see this safer route for cyclists and pedestrians become a reality.

In Gualala, I also had the opportunity to visit their Community Center, which is rebuilding after a devastating fire in 2023. It was exciting to meet with construction crews and community leaders to hear their vision for bringing this beloved gathering place back to life.

I was proud to help deliver $1 million in federal funding for the project and can't wait to see this important community space reopen its doors!

I also had the chance to celebrate $1.2 million in federal funding for improvements to the ice-making facility at Spud Point Marina in Bodega Bay.

Commercial fishing is the backbone of our coastal economy, and reliable access to ice is essential for getting fresh, high-quality seafood to market. It was great to join local fishermen and community members to mark this milestone and thank them for all they do for our coastal communities.

HEARING DIRECTLY FROM YOU

Thank you to everyone who joined me at my town halls in Eureka and Gualala! It was great to see so many familiar faces, meet new folks, and hear directly from you.

These face-to-face conversations are one of the most important parts of my job. I appreciate everyone who took the time to ask questions, share concerns, and offer ideas.

BACK IN WASHINGTON DC

It's been a busy month on the North Coast, and I'm grateful to everyone who took the time to connect with me. I'll carry these conversations back to Washington as I continue fighting for our communities.

And don't forget, whether you need help working with a federal agency or information about legislation and policy, my staff and I are here to support you. If you need assistance, you can submit a Casework Authorization Form on my website.

To keep up with the work I am doing as your representative, please?subscribe to my newsletter, and follow me on Bluesky,?Facebook,?Twitter/ X,?Instagram, and Threads.
