Nebraska Farm Bureau and Nebraska Ag Leaders Support Nomination of Greg Ibach to USDA Trade Under Secretary

Nebraska Farm Bureau (NEFB) sent a letter of support for Greg Ibach to the leaders of the Senate Ag Committee on his nomination to be the next U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Under Secretary for Trade and Foreign Agricultural Affairs.

Ibach served in the first Trump administration as the USDA Under Secretary for Marketing and Regulatory Programs. He also served for many years as the Director of the Nebraska Department of Agriculture.

In his letter to the Senate Ag Committee Chairman Sen. John Boozman and Ranking Member Sen. Amy Klobucher, NEFB President Mark McHargue said of Ibach, "He is a proven leader in agriculture who brings an exceptional combination of firsthand experience as a farmer and rancher, state agricultural leadership, and federal agricultural policy experience to this important position."

NEFB also signed another letter from the Nebraska Ag Leaders coalition supporting Ibach's nomination as well. While the timeline for his confirmation remains uncertain, we are hopeful the full Senate will confirm his nomination before the end of the year.
