United States Attorney Lesley A. Woods announced that Keith Pumala, 67, of Omaha, Nebraska, was sentenced on November 5, 2026, in federal court in Omaha for conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute 500 grams or more of a mixture of methamphetamine. United States District Judge Robert F. Rossiter, Jr. sentenced Gonzalez to 216 months' imprisonment. There is no parole in the federal system. After Pumala is released from prison, he will begin a 5-year term of supervised release.
Pumala was charged because of his involvement with a Mexican source of supply of methamphetamine who supplies the Omaha and Council Bluffs, Iowa, areas with methamphetamine via a local network of drug couriers. Customers call the source and order the drugs, who then sends a courier to meet the customer and complete the transaction. Pumala was a local courier operating in Nebraska and Iowa who received and distributed the source's drugs.
On June 30, 2025, a confidential informant working with law enforcement contacted the Mexican source of supply and ordered one pound of methamphetamine. The source sent Pumala who delivered one pound of methamphetamine to the informant at an Omaha location.
On July 21, 2025, law enforcement executed a search warrant on Pumala's residence where law enforcement seized approximately 14 pounds of methamphetamine.

In performing this work, the HSTF places special emphasis on investigating and prosecuting those engaged in child trafficking or other crimes involving children. The HSTF further utilizes all available tools to prosecute and remove the most violent criminal aliens from the United States. HSTF Omaha comprises agents and officers from HSI, FBI, DEA, ATF, U.S. Marshals Service, USPIS, the IRS-Criminal Investigation Division, and assistance of the Douglas County Sheriff's Office with the prosecution being led by the United States Attorney's Office for the District of Nebraska.
