Dr. Mary Hall Receives McDowell ARH's First ROSE Award

McDOWELL, Ky. - McDowell ARH has honored Dr. Mary Hall as the hospital's first-ever recipient of the ROSE Award, recognizing more than four decades of exceptional patient care, leadership and service to the community.

The ROSE Award is presented annually to a provider who consistently goes above and beyond in caring for patients and the community. Recipients demonstrate excellence in patient care, strong leadership, compassion, collaboration and a positive impact on the communities they serve.

As the first ROSE Award recipient recognized by McDowell ARH, Hall represents the standard of service and dedication the award was created to celebrate. For more than 40 years, she has served the McDowell community as a trusted physician, advocate, mentor, friend and community leader. Throughout her career, she has cared for generations of patients and families while developing a reputation for treating each individual with dignity, empathy and personal commitment.

Hall's leadership has extended throughout ARH and the broader community. She has served on the ARH Care and Quality Committee and the local hospital Advisory Council and has mentored and precepted numerous physicians and nurse practitioners who now serve patients throughout the region.

Her commitment to service has also reached beyond healthcare. Hall has spent many years serving on the Floyd County Board of Education, helping support decisions affecting local students, educators and schools. Her contributions to the region were also recognized when she received the Floyd County Chamber of Commerce Hall of Fame Award for 2018-2019.

Throughout her career, Hall has remained a dependable source of knowledge and leadership for her colleagues and students while providing consistent, trusted care to her patients. Her deep connection to the community has allowed her to understand the needs of the people she serves and advocate for them throughout her career.

The ROSE Award recognizes providers who demonstrate exceptional patient care, leadership, compassion, service, teamwork and community impact. As McDowell ARH's inaugural recipient, Hall's decades of service and commitment to improving the health and well-being of eastern Kentucky embody those qualities and reflect the mission and values of Appalachian Regional Healthcare.
