Ascension Providence Names Hiram Jacob New Hospital President

Hiram Jacob has been named president of Ascension Providence, bringing a decade of healthcare leadership and operational expertise to Central Texas. In this role, he will help advance Ascension's commitment as a faith-based healthcare provider delivering compassionate, quality care for all.

Jacob most recently served as chief operating officer of Chippenham Hospital, a 466-bed tertiary care facility in Richmond, Virginia. During his tenure, he provided executive oversight for key service lines, including surgical, emergency, cardiovascular, trauma and burn, oncology, and neuroscience.

He has led the planning and execution of more than $500 million in capital investments. These projects included patient tower construction, freestanding emergency departments, and operating room expansions to enhance access to care.

Jacob earned a master's degree in health administration from Virginia Commonwealth University and a bachelor's degree in public health from Brigham Young University.
