Trevecca announced that Dr. Phil Rickard will serve as the new dean of the Skinner School of Business. Rickard brings more than two decades of higher education experience, having taught accounting, investments, business law, non-profit management and public administration at the college level.
Rickard will follow Dr. Jim Hiatt, who is set to retire later this year after serving 43 years as a professor, dean and assistant provost.
"I truly value the trust from the Trevecca leadership to select me for this managerial role. I believe it is the ideal role for this season in my life," Rickard said. "We need to remain innovative and continue to produce difference-making graduates."
The Skinner School of Business houses undergraduate and graduate business programs and ranks as the largest Christian graduate business school in Tennessee, according to Nashville Business Journal.
"The appointment of Dr. Phil Rickard as dean of the Skinner School of Business reflects Trevecca's commitment to academic excellence and Christ-centered leadership," Trevecca Provost Dr. Tom Middendorf said. "We are confident he will build on the strong foundation established by Dr. Jim Hiatt and lead the school forward, equipping students to make a meaningful impact in their professions and communities."
Rickard will start his new role this summer.
