Beyond the Canvas Exhibition

The City presents Beyond the Canvas, a three-dimensional exhibition showcasing an expansive range of relief and sculptural artwork. The exhibit is on display at the Arts Barn from March 30 through June 15, 2026. Meet the artists during a free reception on Thursday, April 30, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. The public is invited to explore the works in person and experience how artists transform diverse materials into dynamic forms.

Beyond the Canvas features artwork from 27 artists working in mediums including porcelain, clay, wood, metal, glass, papier-mâché, cardboard, recycled materials, and fiber. Each piece highlights the expressive potential of three-dimensional art and the many ways artists push their materials to create depth, texture, and sculptural impact.

Participating artists include: Allison Inglesby, Anjori Halder, Carl Simon, Claire R. Lynch, Dawneva Evans, Delia Mychajluk, Elisabeth Running, Felisa Federman, Gail Kaplan-Wassell, Garrett Johnston, Isabel Church, Jesse Von Wieman, Joanne Levin, Joseph Barnard, Leigh Partington, Marc Salans, Maria Brito, Mary Opasik, Marylou Bono, Melinda Lowy, Nancy Jakubowski, Sarabeth Smetzer, Seth Kalish, Sharrie Booth, Sydnie Swain, Sylvia Douglin, and Taina Litwak.
