Repairs to Bridge Carrying Route 6 Over I-84 in Bethel

The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing bridge work will be performed on Bridge 00459 carrying Route 6 over I-84. This project is scheduled to occur on Monday, May 4 and be completed on Monday, June 15, 2026. This project ensures the bridge remains in a state of good repair.
This project is being performed by Hammonasset Construction.
LANE CLOSURE/DETOUR INFO
There will be lane closures on I-84 near the Route 6 overpass in Bethel from May 4 to June 15, 2026, from 7:30 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. Traffic control signing patterns will be in place with State Police to guide motorists through the work zone.
Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this area.
