2026 Chickasaw National Recreation Area Road Preservation

Project: Pavement Preservation Oklahoma and Pavement Preservation North Texas
Location: 12th street/ Bromide/ Rock Creek
Anticipated Start Date: April 13 , 2026
Estimated Duration: May 30, 2026

Description of Work:
Construction activities will include asphalt patching, pavement repairs, striping, sweeping, or other roadway improvements. Work will generally occur Monday through Friday between the hours of 7:00 AM and 8:00 PM, weather permitting.

Expected Traffic Delays:
Motorists should expect delays of up to 30 minutes during active construction periods due to lane closures, flagging operations, pilot car use, intermittent stops, etc. Delays will primarily occur between 7:00 AM and 8:00 PM within the project limits.

Periods with No Traffic Delays:
The roadway will be open to traffic without delays during the following periods:

  • Evenings/overnight hours from 8:00 PM to 7:00 AM
  • Weekends and Holidays
  • When construction operations are not active

Traffic control measures will be in place to safely guide motorists through the work zone. Visitors are encouraged to plan for minor delays, follow posted signage, and use caution when traveling through the area. Parking lots may be closed temporarily during construction operations in the affected areas.
