FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
The City of Irvine is excited to celebrate community, connection, and clean air through its third annual car-free open streets event, CicloIrvine, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, May 2. Residents, visitors, and businesses are invited to stroll, bike, and roll along a 1.3-mile car-free stretch of Irvine Boulevard between Culver Drive and Parkwood.
CicloIrvine highlights the City's commitment to community engagement, sustainability, and environmentally conscious means of travel and encourages participants to experience Irvine's public spaces and local businesses in a new and reimagined way with live music, art, and engaging activities for all.
Street closures for CicloIrvine will take place Saturday, May 2, between 5 a.m. and 8 p.m. Those who live or work along the route should plan for detours. Designated crossing points will be available at select locations. Access to The Groves will remain available via Parkwood from Irvine Boulevard, near Jeffrey Road.
Businesses along the CicloIrvine route can become a part of the event by joining as a sponsor or offering specials to visitors on the day of the event. Sponsorship opportunities are available online at cityofirvine.org/cicloirvinesponsors.
If you are interested in volunteering at the event, there are various roles available throughout the day. Please contact Vivian Nguyen at [email protected](link sends e-mail)for more information.
