More than a century - 116 years, to be exact - after Southwestern University hosted the first homecoming celebration in the nation, Pirates returned to Southwestern to keep the tradition alive. Students, faculty, staff, alumni, family, and friends gathered on campus from October 24-26 to reunite with old classmates and make new friends at a variety of events. From the official dedication of the newly-renovated Mood-Bridwell Hall to a hard hat tour of the new Dorothy Perry White Welcome Center and First-Year Residence Hall, SU supporters of all ages got a glimpse of some of the latest capital projects on campus. On Saturday, fans gathered to tailgate and cheer on the Pirates at the annual homecoming football game, complete with an announcement of the Homecoming Court. Throughout the weekend, attendees also enjoyed a classic car show, live music, networking opportunities, reunion parties, and plenty of great food and fun.
