Bank of Hawai'i to Reopen its Līhu'e, 'Ele'ele, and Wai'anae Branches Following Hurricane Lowell

HONOLULU

September 9th, 2026

Bank of Hawai'i will reopen its Līhu'e and 'Ele'ele branches on Kaua'i and its Wai'anae Branch on O'ahu today, Wednesday, Sept. 9.

The Līhu'e and 'Ele'ele branches will operate on abbreviated hours of 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Līhu'e is running on generator power, and the bank will evaluate the branch daily to determine whether it can remain open. Updates will be shared on Bank of Hawai'i's social media channels and website (www.boh.com).

Wai'anae Branch will resume its standard business hours as follows:

  • Monday-Friday: 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Saturday: 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Given the power outages across Kaua'i and some areas on O'ahu, some Bank of Hawai'i ATMs in the state of Hawai'i are not functioning. For a current list of ATMs that are operating, visit the Bank of Hawai'i website at: www.boh.com/locations.
