Austin ISD to host Special Education Transition Fair

Austin ISD is excited to announce its second annual Special Education Transition Fair!

Families can learn more about Special Education Transition services available at Austin ISD, including employment coaching, education and training, independent living, recreation, and leisure.

The event will have more than 50 vendors providing educational information, and is made possible by support from the Austin Ed Fund.

Free Kona Ice will be available for the first 100 attendees and a light breakfast.

Transition services are activities and support that help students with disabilities access opportunities in independent living. For students receiving special education services, an important component of their Individualized Education Program (IEP) is transition planning. This process begins before age 14 and focuses on preparing students for life after high school.

When: 10 a.m. - 12 p.m., Saturday, September 27

Where: Bowie High School Cafeteria, 4103 W Slaughter LN, Austin TX 78749

Media: Please RSVP to the Media Relations Team for the event. Interview opportunities will be available with a representative of the Special Education Transition Fair. Please contact [email protected] or [email protected] for more information.
