Update: Columbia Police respond to traffic accident on East St. Charles Road

(COLUMBIA, MO) -

At about 9:09 p.m. on Aug. 14, Columbia Police responded to a traffic accident involving a vehicle and a pedestrian near East St. Charles Road and Remm Drive.

The vehicle struck the pedestrian, Mark Hunter Jr, 47, of Columbia, who was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced deceased from his injuries.

On Aug. 15, Columbia Police Officers arrested Shunta Bohanon, 53, and Sandra Sharp, 55, both of Columbia. Bohanon is charged with involuntary manslaughter in the first-degree, armed criminal action, leaving the scene of an accident and tampering with physical evidence. Sharp is charged with tampering with physical evidence, resisting arrest and assault of a special victim in the fourth-degree.

CPD officers utilized Flock Safety cameras to locate the suspects.
