The City of Boulder invites community members to celebrate Earth Day through storytelling about our shared climate future. Inspired by the upcoming release of the city's updated Climate Action Plan, the event is meant to spark creativity and community building as we begin another decade of collective climate action.
The event, "Rethink. Reimagine. Earth Day Community Storytelling Night," will take place on Sunday, April 26, at eTown Hall, located at 1535 Spruce St. Doors open at 4:30 p.m., and welcoming remarks begin at 5 p.m. The evening will feature a diverse group of storytellers sharing reflections centered on active hope, climate equity and collective resilience. The event will highlight community voices and creative expression as participants imagine and shape Boulder's climate future together. Registration is encouraged. The event is free and open to the public, and those interested in participating are encouraged to learn more and sign up. Speakers and creative contributors of all ages, languages and backgrounds areencouraged to participate. No professional experience is required.
"While our updated Climate Action Plan will guide the steps we take as a community to help mitigate harmful impacts of a changing climate, we also know climate action is about more than policies and programs. It's about people, equity and the power of collective imagination," said Jonathan Koehn, Climate Initiatives Director with the City of Boulder. "Even when the future feels uncertain, coming together as a community can remind us that it is still ours to shape."
The updatedClimate Action Plan, to be released on Earth Day, outlines strategies to address climate change while supporting a thriving community, with an emphasis on equity, innovation and long-term resilience. To inspire creative momentum in implementing the plan, we will also premiere "Boulder's Big Adventure," a child-friendly video that brings the city's climate journey to life for all ages.
