State, national and international media frequently feature the University of Wyoming and members of its community in stories. Here is a summary of some of the recent coverage:

The coal-to-products field demonstration plant, under construction by UW's School of Energy Resources near Gillette, was the topic of a Cowboy State Daily article. The facility will be capable of processing 8-10 tons of coal per day, producing intermediate materials that can be manufactured into asphalt products, building materials, agricultural soil amendments and nuclear-grade graphite.

Jerod Merkle, an associate professor in UW's Department of Zoology and Physiology, is among those quoted in a Cowboy State Daily article about how cheatgrass is moving into areas scorched by 2024 wildfires in northeast Wyoming, threatening mule deer habitat. A UW team has found that if managers can strategically treat invasive annual grasses to defend and grow core sagebrush habitat, it may be possible to maintain high-quality mule deer habitat instead of allowing it to decline.

The Rural Radio Network and The Riverton Ranger picked up UW's release about Ph.D. student Chase Markel, who is harnessing artificial intelligence to transform how animal scientists study risk factors for congestive heart failure in cattle.

The Laramie Boomerang published UW's release about a paper by a UW professor and a UW alumnus proposing the use of spatially balanced rotating panel designs as a time- and cost-efficient way to monitor the ecological reclamation of oil natural gas sites.
