ABC Supports Trump Administration’s Continued Work to Clarify ‘Waters of the United States’

WASHINGTON, Sept. 4-Associated Builders and Contractors issued the following statement from its vice president of government affairs, Kristen Swearingen, on the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's release of a proposed supplemental rule addressing the definition of "waters of the United States" under the Clean Water Act:

"ABC appreciates the Trump administration's continued work to establish a clear, durable and reasonable definition of WOTUS that brings clarity to ABC contractor members and maintains important water quality protections. We support the EPA's efforts to provide greater regulatory certainty, reduce unnecessary permitting delays and ensure federal authority is consistent with the U.S. Supreme Court's decision in Sackett v. Environmental Protection Agency. ABC looks forward to reviewing the supplemental proposal and providing comments."
