Nominations Now Open for the 2027 Cherry Hall Alexander African American History Calendar

June 30, 2026

Tallahassee State College (TSC) is now accepting nominations for the annual Cherry Hall Alexander African American History Calendar (AAHC), a distinguished tradition that recognizes and celebrates African American trailblazers across the Big Bend region.

The theme for the 2027 calendar, From Print to Pixels: Black Creators and Communicators, shines a spotlight on individuals who have made a lasting impact in journalism, publishing, communications, print, and digital media.

This year's theme explores how local African Americans have used media to tell their stories, educate and inform the public, strengthen community connections, and shape public discourse while highlighting the evolving role of media and communication in today's digital-forward age.

Nominees must be living individuals from Leon, Wakulla, Jefferson, or Gadsden counties who have demonstrated meaningful contributions through leadership, education, mentorship, advocacy, civic engagement, volunteerism, or other services that have positively impacted the lives of others.

Nominations are open now through Monday, August 31, 2026. To submit a nomination, visit: https://tallystate.com/AAHC2027Nomination.
