GREEN COVE SPRINGS, Fla. - Clay County leaders invite residents, business owners, and community partners to attend the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the county's new Development Services Building on Tuesday, July 28, at 10 a.m.
The ceremony will take place at 435 Walburg Street, just south of the Administration Building, and is open to the public. Parking is available in front of the building and also at the Administration Building.
Following the ceremony, attendees will have an opportunity to tour the new facility.
BUILDING OVERVIEW AND SERVICES
The new 34,000-square-foot, two-story building brings together several County and State departments in one convenient location, including the Building Department, Planning and Zoning, Department of Health, State Housing Initiatives Partnership (SHIP), Fire Prevention, Code Enforcement and the Engineering Department.
Development Services plays a critical role in Clay County's continued growth and economic success. Over the past six years, the departments housed in the new building have facilitated development that led to an increase of more than $2 billion in taxable economic value throughout the county.
"Bringing these departments together under one roof helps us create a one-stop shop to more efficiently serve our residents, businesses, and development community as Clay County continues to grow," said Clay County Assistant County Manager Chereese Stewart, who led the project from planning to completion. "This facility was designed to improve coordination across departments and create a better experience for everyone who walks through our doors."
