Iowa City launches new digital public art map

Grab some sunscreen and hit the town with a new map to guide you: the Iowa City Public Art Map!

Created by the City's Public Art program, in partnership with Public Art Archive, the digital map contains the locations of 194 works of public art throughout Iowa City. It displays works both commissioned by the Public Art Commission and those funded by, or created for, organizations, businesses, or individuals made for public display.

This new map allows for more robust filtering and sorting options, both in list or map views. It represents another important step for the City's Public Art Strategic Plan to help bolster Iowa City's vibrant public art scene for people locally, nationally, and abroad.

If you have a publicly accessible artwork you'd like to see included on the map, you can review the criteria and submit for consideration using the Recognition of Art in Non-Public Spaces Form.
