On November 28, 2025, Chinese Consul General in Perth Fu Lihua, accompanied by Consul Yang Xiuqing, visited Norton Gold Fields, a Chinese-funded enterprise in Kalgoorlie Boulder, Western Australia. She inspected the Binduli and Paddington gold operations and attended the 40th-anniversary celebration of the Paddington Operations.
Consul General Fu conducted in-depth inspections at the operation sites and listened to reports from the management. She commended the company for its remarkable achievements through hard work and urged it to continue strengthening production management, contributing more to local development, and fostering mutual benefits and win-win cooperation between Western Australia and China.
In her speech at the 40th-anniversary celebration of the Paddington project, Consul General Fu praised Norton Gold Fields for its positive contributions to local economic and social development. She emphasized China's commitment to high-quality development and high-level openning up, noting that as China enters the "15th Five-Year Plan" period, exchanges, cooperation, and mutual benefits between Western Australia and China will usher in more opportunities.
Kalgoorlie Boulder Mayor Glenn Wilson attended the event and delivered a speech. Federal Minister for Resources Madeleine King and Western Australia Minister for Mines David Michael provided video messages, all congratulating the project on its milestone achievements.
