Supporting Hurricane Melissa Relief Efforts

The Town of Davie stands in solidarity with Jamaica and the Caribbean as they face the devastating impacts of Hurricane Melissa.

Hurricane Melissa has left widespread devastation across Jamaica and the Caribbean, displacing thousands of families and leaving many in urgent need of assistance. Communities are facing severe shortages of food, clean water, medical supplies, and safe shelter.

During this difficult time, we encourage those who are able to contribute to trusted organizations providing on-the-ground aid:

  • American Red Cross
    • The American Red Cross, along with its island chapters and the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, is fully operational and responding across affected regions to provide emergency assistance and recovery support.
  • The Salvation Army
    • The Salvation Army's Jamaica East Division continues to assist families impacted by Hurricane Melissa and is mobilizing to provide food, shelter, and essential resources to those in need.
  • United Way
    • United Way is actively coordinating with local partners in Jamaica and throughout the Caribbean to support both immediate relief and long-term recovery initiatives.
  • Broward County
    • The County has opened six donation locations to help our neighbors in Jamaica and other parts of the Caribbean after the impacts of Hurricane Melissa.

Every donation helps provide hope and critical relief to those impacted by this disaster. Together, we can make a difference.
