Amazon increases investment in Spain to €33.7 billion to expand data center infrastructure and drive AI innovation across Europe
Amazon has announced a €33.7 billion ($39.8 billion) investment in Spain to expand data center and cloud infrastructure, with a focus on AI innovation-the company's largest-ever technology investment in the country, coinciding with its 15th anniversary there. The investment, centered on the AWS Europe (Spain) Region in Aragón, is projected to contribute €31.7 billion to Spain's GDP through 2035, support approximately 29,900 full-time equivalent jobs annually, and includes new supply chain facilities expected to create around 1,800 additional jobs in Aragón. Beyond infrastructure, Amazon plans to invest €30 million in community programs through 2035 covering education, sustainability, and local development, while also committing to train half a million students in AI and digital skills in Spain by 2027.
