The Winchester District's inspiring accessible sports event will return this autumn - and registration for places is now open.
Winchester Personal Bests will take place in Winchester Sport & Leisure Park and the University of Winchester sports stadium on Thursday 3 September 2026.
The 2025 eventThe event, now in its 14th year, is for adults with a wide range of learning and physical disabilities. It offers them the opportunity to try accessible sports and challenge themselves while creating connections and having fun in a supportive environment.
From 33 participants in 2012, it now attracts 200 people from the Winchester district and surrounding areas.
Betty Chadwick, Executive Director of Active LD, said: "Winchester Personal Bests is always a highlight of the year, bringing people together to celebrate success, have fun and enjoy sport in an inclusive and supportive environment. We're looking forward to welcoming both returning and new participants for another fantastic event."
Winchester City Council's Cabinet Member for Healthy Communities Cllr Kathleen Becker said: "It has been my pleasure to visit this event in previous years and I am always so impressed; Winchester Personal Bests is a wonderful opportunity for people with learning and physical disabilities to build community connections in a nurturing and supportive environment, which also inspires them to develop their participation in physical activity.
"At Winchester City Council, we are committed to investing in opportunities that improve health and wellbeing, increase participation in physical activity and help people of all abilities feel connected to their community - and this event is a fantastic example of those aims being brought to life".
