El Salvador: FAIRS Country Report Annual
Since August 7, 2024, the Superintendence for Sanitary Regulation has been responsible for food and beverage product registration in El Salvador. The Consumer Protection Law is enforced by the Consumer Protection Agency (DDC). Ministry of Agriculture is in charge of meat and dairy products, and pet food import permits. Food safety norms are becoming stricter, sometimes causing unnecessary trade delays.
