HACU announces leadership program for entry-level higher education professionals

SAN ANTONIO - The Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities has announced it will offer the HACU Pathways Early Career Leadership Program, designed to prepare entry-level higher education professionals for future leadership roles. The fully online program will be offered twice a year, beginning in spring 2027.

The eight-week program is intended to strengthen foundational, student-centered leadership skills. The curriculum covers topics that support participants' professional development, including leadership, emotional intelligence, governance, strategic planning, change management and supervision.

A Leadership Immersion Experience is available for participants seeking additional professional development and networking opportunities. The experience includes a one-day, in-person learning session, followed by attendance at a HACU conference.

"We are excited to offer the new HACU Pathways Early Career Leadership Program for entry-level higher education professionals," said HACU President and CEO Antonio R. Flores. "This new program builds on HACU's long-standing commitment to develop higher education leaders and provides an essential step towards a successful career in higher education."

College and university professionals with up to five years of experience in entry-level positions are eligible to apply to the program. Academic and nonacademic support personnel are encouraged to apply. Additional information, including program costs and the online application, is available on the program website. The deadline to apply for the spring cohort is Oct. 16, 2026. Selected participants will be notified by the end of November 2026.
