Expect Lane Closures on Ontario Road for Bob Jones Trailhead Parking Lot Improvements

Avila Beach - Maintenance work is currently underway at the Bob Jones Trailhead Parking Lot. Motorists can expect intermittent lane closures on Ontario Road through November 4.
The Bob Jones Ontario Road Trailhead parking lot has been identified as needing repairs, through the County's Capital Improvement Program and maintenance work is currently underway to improve the parking lot. As a result, the parking lot, located on the Southern section of the Bob Jones Trail off Ontario Road in Avila Beach, is closed to the public.
As part of this maintenance work, there will be single lane closures during construction on the following dates:
- 10/27/2026
- 10/28/2026
- 11/03/2026
- 11/04/2026
The public should expect 5-10 minute delays on these days as traffic is routed by flaggers through the remaining open lane. Traffic and safety mitigation measures during the project and lane closures will include signage, flaggers and barricades. These single-lane closures are needed for safety purposes.
The public is encouraged to access the Bob Jones Trail from the Avila Beach trailhead closest to the beach. Please see map for locations.
