Defendant Convicted of Rape

DATE: October 29, 2026

CASE: Ihor Huryeyev (Case #24FE005272)

PROSECUTOR: Deputy District Attorney Stephanie Aarseth, Adult Sexual Assault Prosecution Unit

On October 27, 2026, Ihor Huryeyev was convicted by a jury of kidnapping to commit another crime, forcible rape and sodomy by use of force.

On March 26, 2024, officers responded to K Street on a report of a rape. The victim reported that after an altercation between Ihor Huryeyev and the victim's friend, Huryeyev grabbed the victim and put her in his car. He then drove and parked in front of Sutter's Fort, where he strangled her three times as he struggled to remove her clothes before raping and sodomizing her. The victim was able to escape and Huryeyev fled the scene. A security guard who heard the victim screaming came to the location and was able to take a picture of Huryeyev's license plate. The victim was taken to the BEAR center where her injuries were documented and DNA was collected, which matched Huryeyev.

Huryeyev faces a maximum sentence of 23 years to life in prison. Sentencing is set for February 5, 2027, at 9 AM in Department 12D before the Honorable Kenneth Brody.
