Upcoming Paving and Detour on Glacier Avenue at West 8th Street

The City & Borough of Juneau Engineering Department is planning to pave at the intersection of Glacier Avenue and West 8th near the Downtown Fire Station and the Federal Building this month. The exact date will be weather dependent and may take place on one of the following days:
- Tuesday October 7th
- Thursday October 9th
- Saturday October 18th
This area will be closed from approximately 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. on the day of paving. All vehicle traffic and pedestrian walkways will be detoured during paving operations. Please follow marked detours around the project for your safety and for the safety of those working in the area.
The paving work is part of a larger project including road repairs and utility upgrades in the area. The project is expected to conclude by the end of the month.
