Deceased individuals identified from February 6, 2026 fatal crash

On February 6, 2026, at approximately 01:46 p.m., the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) received a call for service regarding an injury traffic crash involving a motorcycle and a pickup truck in the 1400 block of South Academy Boulevard. Officers responded and learned that the pickup was crossing South Academy Boulevard at an intersection when it was T-boned by a motorcycle. Despite life-saving measures provided by officers and medical personnel, the motorcycle rider succumbed to his injuries on scene. The driver of the pickup truck was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries.

Due to the severity of the crash, detectives from the Major Crash Team responded and took over the investigation. Speed is considered a possible factor in the investigation.

On February 7, 2026, the El Paso County Coroner's Office conducted an autopsy on the deceased motorcyclist and identified him as 37-year-old Joseph Pagliaro.

This was the 5th traffic fatality in Colorado Springs this year. At this time last year, there were no traffic fatalities. In the last 365 days, there have been 58 traffic fatalities in Colorado Springs.
