AUC Chairperson Congratulates Seychelles on 50th Anniversary of the Independence

The Chairperson of the African Union (AU) Commission, H.E. Mahmoud Ali Youssouf, extends his warmest congratulations to the Government and people of the Republic of Seychelles on the occasion of the 50th Anniversary of the country's Independence.

The Chairperson said that this Golden Jubilee marks five decades of nation-building, democratic governance, peace, and sustainable development. He added that Seychelles has made remarkable strides in advancing the well-being of its people while championing environmental stewardship, the Blue Economy, and regional cooperation.

The African Union commends Seychelles' steadfast commitment to the ideals of Pan-Africanism, continental integration, and multilateral cooperation.

As the nation celebrates this historic milestone, the African Union reaffirms its solidarity with the people and Government of Seychelles and looks forward to strengthening our shared partnership in advancing the aspirations of Agenda 2063 for a peaceful, prosperous, and united Africa.
