New and ongoing affordable home buying opportunities in Hayward

October 8, 2025

The City of Hayward Affordable Housing Program has multiple home purchase opportunities for moderate, low-income and very low-income households interested in owning a home in Hayward.

The newest of these opportunities, called Manon Townhomes, will provide the first two units of newly constructed housing in Hayward ever offered for sale exclusively to very low-income buyers. The development is currently under construction at 27865 Manon Avenue.

One unit will have three bedrooms and 1,667 total square feet of living space and will be priced at $58,759. The other unit will have five bedrooms and 2,307 square feet of total living space and will be priced at $67,822. To qualify, buyers must have incomes that don't exceed the very low-income limits for Alameda County, as published by the California Department of Development Services (HCD). Very low-income limits range from $55,950 to $105,500 depending on household size.

Opportunities to buy one of these units at Manon Townhomes will be awarded through a lottery system. The application period to participate closes Nov. 3. For more information, contact HouseKeys at (877) 460-KEYS or email [email protected] or go online to https://www.housekeys8.com/manon.

New income-restricted homes for sale at below market prices also remain available at two other Hayward residential developments-the SoMi condominiums, at 29212 Mission Boulevard, and the Sequoia Grove townhomes, at 123 A Street.

At SoMi, 13 units are priced at $421,183 for two bedrooms and $473,509 for three bedrooms and are available to moderate-income buyers with incomes ranging from $134,250 to $253,100, depending on household size. For more information, contact HouseKeys at (877) 460-KEYS or email [email protected] or go online to https://www.housekeys8.com/somi.

At Sequoia Grove, 10 units are priced at $252,302 for three bedrooms and $279,524 for four bedrooms and are available to low-income households with three persons or more with incomes ranging from $112,550 to $165,100, depending on household size.
