Cambodia Convenes the First National AI for Education Conference, transforming RAM recommendations into national action

In his remarks, H.E. Dr. Hang Chuon Naron, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education, Youth and Sport, emphasized the importance of aligning technological innovation with human values and the Pentagonal Strategy-Phase I, which identifies the development of human resources in science, technology and innovation as a national priority: "AI presents both remarkable opportunities and important challenges for Cambodia's education system. We must ensure that its adoption is ethical, responsible, inclusive and sustainable, so that it benefits learners and teachers and strengthens teaching and learning across the country. At the same time, we must advance with caution, guided by evidence, ethics and a commitment to equity." He called for continued collaboration between MoEYS, MPTC, CADT, RCC, UNESCO and all partners to ensure that AI supports-not disrupts-the core mission of education.
